I got a story to tell
Listen to me as I tell it very well
I knew this dude from the hood, he was a real 1 too
Had a sister and mother
Father an alcoholic - he beat them whenever he felt the need to
He didn't really need to tell me that
Bruises and scars were a see-through
Same as the shame and pain in his eyes
Feeling this rage but couldn't deal with it anytime soon
What the fuck a boy's supposed to do ?
His mother was threatened, his sister was threatened
He couldn't just step in...
He hid his sister from their Pops whenever Pops hit the glass!
Young dude thought about automatics, knifes, glocks
But then his Mom passed...
Disease and abuse, tears falling on her coffin
Pops drinking even more often
Dude got into a bad company
Cause this company could fuck up his Pops unaccompanied by cops
But he found himself too close to the rocks
To the drug spots and where they're selling sex
Next, he was in the cell
They checked if he'd prevail
But in his mind he failed
Ends didn't justify the means right now
All he wanted is to never get bacc to this cell
After 48hrs he couldn't vision himself doing years in jail!
He got out, left the hood, kept in touch, just the minimum
I told him that he shouldn't, he should just leave
But he told me, and one other homie - that he should
So he did...
Last time we spoke, he said he was doing great, doing big
Livin in a rich country, doing constructions
Earning fine money, off his own company
He is his own boss...
But his sister fell off
Unfortunately that's the other side of this broken coin.
